Citizen in my city – Citizen in Europe” in Rome December 15-16, 2015


 

CEMR organized a conference on Citizenship – “Citizen in my city – Citizen in Europe” in Rome on the 15-16th of December. The conference brought together around 300 mayors, leaders and representatives of civil society organization to exchange on the topic of active citizenship.

 

On occasion of the conference the workshop “Citizens equality: from the signature of the European Charter for equality to its implementation” was held dedicated to the work of the European Charter for Equality with focus on how to strengthen the work on gender equality at local level in Europe.

 

The workshop brought together around 40 participants from all over Europe.

 

The speakers were Ewa SAMUELSSON, Chair of CEMR’s Standing Committee for Equality and Former Deputy Mayor of Stockholm.
