European Development Days
European Development Days is an initiative organized by the European Commission DG DEVCO to gather stakeholders active in the area of international cooperation. The event aims to be a platform of exchange, presenting examples on how EU member states and citizens are contributing to reduce poverty and promote human rights worldwide.
This year, the European Development Days will be organised on the 3rd-4th of June in Brussels. Since 2015 is the European Year of Development it will constitute the leading event to advocate for a stronger international collaboration and share knowledge in this field.
The Observatory will participate, together with PLATFORMA (the European Voice for Local and Regional Authorities for Development) and a number of other stakeholders (UN Women, EuropeAid, CONCORD, Practicioners’ Network for European Development Cooperation) in organising a high level panel on the topic “Ending gender inequality by 2030” that will take place on June 3rd.
The Observatory and PLATFORMA will also participate in the organization of a workshop on the topic “Implementing the Sustainable Development Goals: Financing and measuring progress on gender equality in the post-2015 framework”.
