Webinar: How cities are promoting gender equality in times of COVID

Webinar: How cities are promoting gender equality in times of COVID

The COVID-19 pandemic has upended our societies and forced us to change how we do business, govern and interact with one another. The crisis has also magnified inequalities and vulnerabilities within our societies.

That’s why the CEMR Standing Committee for Equality is organising a one-hour online seminar to take stock of how COVID-19 has impacted gender policies at local and regional level in Europe. Join us to discover practical case studies of how municipal authorities are taking action.

The city of Legnago (Italy) will show how to promote work-life balance by providing out-of-school care and activities for children, while Frankfurt (Germany) and Poznań (Poland) will look at how to protect women from the “shadow pandemic” of domestic violence through online advice and shelters. We will also discuss other issues such as the identification of vulnerable groups and access to health services.

Join us! EU affairs professionals and representatives of local and regional government associations in particular are invited to attend. Together, we will keep gender equality squarely at the centre of the political debate and thus help to ensure a successful and inclusive recovery.
