From Barriers to Opportunities: Improving access to European funding for Women’s Funds – 12 October 10:00-12:00 CET

Virtual roundtable – ‘From Barriers to Opportunities: Improving access to European funding for Women’s Funds’

Women’s Funds Europe would like to invite you to a virtual roundtable on improving access to European funding Women’s Funds. This year will be crucial in setting the future funding direction, delivery and defining the European Institutions’ approach to the EU Gender Equality Strategy and the Gender Action Plan III. This event will hear from a range of experts from the European Institutions, regions and civil society partners, and European networks.

As civil society practitioners’ Women’s Funds seek to ensure that the broad civil society dialogue at EU level represents delivery organisations and measures impact on the ground. This includes supporting the objectives of ending gender-based violence; challenging gender stereotypes; closing gender gaps in the labour market; achieving equal participation across different sectors of the economy; and achieving gender balance in decision-making and in politics.  This expert workshop organised by Women’s Funds Europe and supported by Maria Noichl MEP, Member of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) will examine the following questions:

1.How to strengthen funding instruments for grassroots women’s Civil Society Organisations (CSOs): Provision of funding which specifically supports grassroots CSOs active at local and national level to build administrative and financial capacity to support the delivery of European funding on the ground.

2.Empowering grassroots women’s organizations in Europe: Maximising the expertise of grassroots women’s organisations to strengthen community CSO engagement in the next European budget 2021-2027.
